Metzelder took the pitch with Real Madrid's shirt

Real Madrid's new player, Christoph Metzelder, now knows what it is to wear the Club's shirt. The German centre back put on the team kit after his presentation.

Posing for the press at the Bernabéu with Real Madrid's shirt for the first time is one of the most anticipated moments for every player who joins the Club. This is exactly what Cristoph Metzelder did after his presentation. He stepped onto the pitch with two footballs and had his picture taken.

The fans at the stadium cheered him on and screamed his name. Their new idol approached them, greeting and thanking them for their support. He gave them the footballs he came out of the dressing room with; he was visibly moved and excited.

Metzelder then returned to where the media was in order to have his picture taken with President Ramón Calderón and some members of the Board.

Cristoph Metzelder is the sixth German footballer to play for the Club. His new coach, Bernd Schuster, was one of the previous five.
