West Ham Clinch Freddie

West Ham have called a press conference for this afternoon, where it is expected that Freddie Ljungberg will be unveiled as a Hammers player.

The transfer has gained momentum over the past few days, with news that Ljungberg flew to London from Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Austria to agree personal terms and undergo a medical at Upton Park.

It seems as though Ljungberg has gone back on his word, previously stating that if he were to leave Arsenal, it wouldn’t be to another club in the Premiership, out of respect of the club and the fans.

An official fee is yet to be released, but is thought to be in the region of £3million. If the Hammers have captured the signing of Freddie, they will have beaten off competition from Fiorentina and Manchester City.
