Henry's Divorce Finalised

FC Barcelona forward Thierry Henry saw his divorce finalised in London court on Monday as his four-year marriage to Claire Merry came to end.


The French international and Merry, a 27-year-old former model, announced their split just after he agreed a move from Arsenal to Camp Nou earlier this summer.

A judge at London's High Court Family Division granted the couple "a quickie divorce" after Merry filed on the grounds of Henry's "unreasonable behaviour".

Henry is expected to receive a hefty settlement bill with Merry, who modelled under the name Nicole Merry, looked for around €15m.

With the player reported to have a fortune of around €25m and a current salary of €130,000-a-week, divorce lawyers believe he will have to dig deep.

The couple met when he starred together for a series of adverts for Renault Clio cars and have a two-year-old daughter, Tea, who they are battling to win custody of.
